How
to use the Records Centre
Upon arrival all
users must deposit their coats and bags in the lockers provided and
fill in a Registration Form detailing their name, address and purpose
of visit. This information is useful for statistical analysis and vital
for record security. Users may also be asked for proof of identity.
Researchers are requested to agree, (as a condition of entry) to conform
to our Searchroom Regulations. Records are then accessed via the index
and archive lists. Staff will be happy to assist users with queries
about the record types and their research potential. When a user wishes
to consult a record a Production Slip, must be filled in for each item
requested. There are map reading tables and power points for laptop
users in the searchroom. Records may be photocopied, at the discretion
of the searchroom supervisor. A Copyright Disclaimer Form must also
be filled out by the user prior to photocopying.
